STATEMENT OF HIS CHANCERY OF H.R.H.Crown Prince Alexander II

The meeting of H.R.H. Crown Prince Alexander II with the president of FRY Dr. Vojislav Kostunica and with the Prime Minister of Serbia Dr. Zoran Djindjic

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II, with his Consort Princess Katherine, accompanied by members of the Crown Council, met yesterday in Belgrade with President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Vojislav Kostunica and with Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Djindjic. During meetings the actual situation in the country was discussed and the necessity to preserve political unity for the common benefit stressed.

His Royal Highness supported the efforts of the Federal and Serbian Authorities to help the country out of the difficult situation that resulted from many decades of mis-use of power by successive regimes. His Royal Highness is convinced that his permanent stay in his homeland will be a factor in better understanding and stability. The Crown Prince intends to use his position and connections within important international political and economic circles to contribute to better understanding of the nature and characteristics of the democratic changes our country is presently going through.
