CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR AT CONSECRATION OF  CHURCH IN DUSANOVAC

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar and his wife Princess Katarina were present today at the consecration of the church of Assumption in Dušanovac near Negotin. The ceremony was performed by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle.

After the service the Crown Prince and his wife attended a banquet at the Dušanovac Cultural Centre and then went on to Bukovo Monastery. Later they visited Zaječar where they were given a very warm welcome by the  municipal dignitaries and citizens who came out into the streets in large numbers to greet the Royal couple. A press conference was held at the City Hall, followed by the showing of a short documentary on King Aleksandar I’s visit to Zaječar  in 1923. The Crown Prince expressed his joy at visiting eastern Serbia. He had no opportunity to visit it before, but promised to come again.

After the press conference the Crown Prince and his wife visited the local bishop’s residence and primary school “ Ljubica Radosavljević Nada”. The Royal couple received a warm welcome and the pupils gave a performance in their honour.

Their Royal Highnesses’ host at today’s event was Bishop Justin of Timok. Crown Prince Aleksandar and Princess Katarina were accompanied by Mr. Vojislav Milovanović, Serbian Minister for Religion and member of the Crown Council, Mr. Dragomir Acović.
