THE CHANCELLERY OF PRINCE ALEKSANDAR KARAĐORĐEVIĆ
PATRON HRH Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević,
Crown Prince Aleksandar’s son, is
the new patron of the King Peter I Cup, traditionally organised by the King
Petar I Scout troop from Niš between
21st to 23rd September. The Royal Family is a long-established patron of the
scout organisation. HM King Petar I was the patron in the Kingdom of Serbia
and HM King Aleksandar I in the
Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The late Prince Tomislav, who was then the only
member of the Karađorđević
family living in the homeland, accepted the patronage
in 1998, and was joined by the manager of the King Petar I Foundation, Mr. Miladin Gavrilović. In his letter to the King Petar I Scout troop for the opening ceremony Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević expressed his honour and pleasure to be the new patron of the contest and urged the scouts to continue their work in order to contribute the country’s renewal.
