HUMANITARIAN AID DONATED BY H.R.H. CROWN PRINCESS KATARINA WORTH 256.000 DM

H.R.H. Crown Princess Katarina, in the presence of her husband H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar, donated humanitarian aid worth 256.000 DM to the 'Institute for the Protection of Health of Children and Youth' in Novi Sad.

With her humanitarian work Princess Katarina provided medical equipment consisting of the following: an ultrasound machine (Color Dopler), children's aspirator, incubator, reanimation table, apparatus for measuring blood sugar level, the latest apparatus for rapid blood tests and a 'reanmobile' – a medical vehicle with complete equipment for reanimation. The Institute was also given a large amount of food, blankets, clothes and shoes.

Their Royal Highnesses visited all the sections of the Institute for the Protection of Health of Children and Youth and in a conversation with the doctors and other medical staff they learned about conditions for medical care of citizens of Novi Sad.

In addressing the hosts in white, Princess Katarina said that there is always a need for humanitarian deeds even when there is effective social welfare in the country but when the situation in the country is difficult the humanitarian work ceases being a matter of good will and becomes a duty. "I know my responsibility and my duty to help. I do not see as a part of my responsibilities but as an act of love" – emphasized H.R.H. Crown Princess Katarina.
