THE CHANCELLERY OF
CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR AND THE ROYAL FAMILY CELEBRATE THEIR SLAVA, ST. ANDREW, THE FIRST CALLED
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar II and the Royal Family celebrated their Slava, St. Andrew, the First called among the Apostles, in the St. Andrew’s chapel, within the Palace compound, was consecrated by His Holiness The Serbian Patriarch Pavle, who also celebrated holy Liturgy and performed the Slava ceremony. His Grace Bishop Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla and His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje and members of the Holy Synod also attended the consecration. Other dignitaries of the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as the Reverend Philip Warner, Anglican priest and Monsignor Stanislav Hocevar, The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Belgrade joined the Family for the celebration. Besides the church dignitaries, members of the Federal and Serbian Governments and the Crown Council also attended the lunch at the Palace. In the afternoon Crown Prince Aleksandar and Crown Princess Katarina, Princes Petar and Filip, Prince Vladimir and Prince Brigitte, Princess Katarina (Mrs de Silva) and her daughter Victoria de Silva and Princess Lavinia and her husband Mr Austin Pritchard received a great number of prominent people from the Yugoslav and Serbian public, cultural and political life, representatives of international non-governmental organisations and friends of the House at the old Royal Palace (the Belgrade City Hall in Belgrade). In the evening Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown Princess Katarina along with the members of the Royal Family hosted a reception for members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of the Federal and Serbian authorities and religious communities, members of the Crown Council and a number of prominent people from the society.
