His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II opened today the 51st Oplenac Grape Harvest in Topola.

Crown Prince Alexander went in a horse-drawn carriage through the streets of Topola, and then to the opening ceremony at the “Karadjordje’s Town”.

The Crown Prince said: “Oplenac Grape Harvest is a symbol of our country’s fertility and the gifts it provides us. The Assembly of Folk Creativity is the image of vitality and achievements of the spirit of our people. These events enrich our cultural and artistic heritage and represent Serbiain the best light. May this and every new Oplenac Grape Harvest present to Serbia and the world even better wines, and all the other great products from Topola and Sumadija.”

Mr Dragan Jovanovic, member of the Parliament and chairman of the city council and Mr Dragan Zivanovic, Mayor of Topola also addressed participants and guests. After the opening ceremony the Crown Prince strolled through the streets of Topola and talked to the residents of the town and visitors of this traditional event.

At the “Supreme Leader Karadjordje” military barracks Crown Prince attended the opening of the exhibition of Japanese graphics art, that was officially opened by HE Mr Masafumi Kuroki, ambassador of Japan. HRH Crown Prince Alexander welcomed Mr Kuroki to Topola and Sumadija, and presented him with a bottle of the finest Oplenac wine from the Royal Vineyards.
