Kralj Petar I\" href=\"https:\/\/royalfamily.org\/\/dinastija\/nj-v-kralj-petar-i\/?lang=lat\">Kralja Petra I)<\/a>\u00a0i Princeze i grofice Aurore Pavlovne Demidove (unuka Finkinje filantropa Aurore Karamzin i njenog mu\u017ea Princa i ruskog grofa Pavela Nikolaevi\u010da Demidova, sa jedne strane, a sa druge ruskog Princa Petra Trubeckog i njegove \u017eene Jelisavete Esperovne, devoja\u010dko Princeza Beloselski-Belozerski).<\/p>\n<p>O\u017eenio se\u00a0<a title=\"#\" href=\"https:\/\/royalfamily.org\/files\/temp\/olga.jpg\">Princezom Olgom od Gr\u010dke i Danske<\/a>, sestrom Princeze Marine, \u00a0Vojvotkinje od Kenta. Kralj D\u017eord\u017e VI, tada Vojvoda od Jorka, bio je kum na njihovom ven\u010danju u Beogradu.<\/p>\n<p>Dana 9. oktobra 1934. godine, Knez Pavle je prihvatio ulogu Namesnika nakon \u0161to je na njegovog ro\u0111aka,<a title=\"Nj.V. Kralj Aleksandar I\" href=\"https:\/\/royalfamily.org\/\/dinastija\/nj-v-kralj-aleksandar-i\/?lang=lat\">Kralja Aleksandra I<\/a>, izvr\u0161en atentat u Marseju, u Francuskoj. Kralj Aleksandar je testamentom imenovao Kneza Pavla prvim od trojice namesnika koji \u0107e upravljati dr\u017eavom sve do septembra 1941. godine, kada \u0107e sin Kralja Aleksandra,\u00a0<a title=\"NJ.V. Kralj Petar II\" href=\"https:\/\/royalfamily.org\/\/dinastija\/nj-v-kralj-petar-ii\/?lang=lat\">Kralj Petar II<\/a>, postati punoletan.<\/p>\n<p>Godine 1939., Knez Pavle, kao \u0161ef dr\u017eave, odlazi u Berlin. Avgusta iste godine, sporazumom Cvetkovi\u0107-Ma\u010dek, Hrvatska je progla\u0161ena banovinom. Centralna Vlada je zadr\u017eala kontrolu nad spoljnim poslovima, odbranom, spoljnom i unutra\u0161njom trgovinom, transportom, javnom bezbedno\u0161\u0107u, religijom, rudarstvom, autorizacijom standarda, osiguranjem i obrazovanjem. Hrvatska je trebalo da formira svoje zakonodavno telo u Zagrebu kao i sopstveni bud\u017eet.<\/p>\n<p>Kada je po\u010deo Drugi svetski rat, Jugoslavija je proglasila neutralnost. Dana 25. marta 1941. godine, Jugoslovenska vlada je potpisala Trojni pakt sa zna\u010dajnim ogradama navedenim u tri ta\u010dke. Prva ta\u010dka je bila zahtev da sile Osovine po\u0161tuju teritorijalni integritet i suverenitet Jugoslavije. U drugoj ta\u010dki se tra\u017eilo obe\u0107anje da sile Osovine ne\u0107e tra\u017eiti od Jugoslavije vojnu pomo\u0107. U tre\u0107oj se od sila Osovine zahtevalo obe\u0107anje da ne\u0107e tra\u017eiti dozvolu za prelazak vojske preko teritorije Jugoslavije za vreme rata.<\/p>\n<p>Dva dana kasnije, 27. Marta 1941., Knez Pavle je pu\u010dem svrgnut sa vlasti.<\/p>\n<p>Spoljna politika Princa Pavla, uklju\u010duju\u0107i i potpisivanje Trojnog pakta, bila je vo\u0111ena \u017eeljom da Jugoslaviji omogu\u0107i \u0161to nesputaniji polo\u017eaj u krajnje nepovoljnim uslovima.<\/p>\n<p>Nakon pada Francuske i poraza Britanije, Knez Pavle je shvatio da je prihvatanje saradnje sa silama Osovine jedini na\u010din da se spase Jugoslavija. \u010cak i u tim okolnostima, Knez Pavle je, iako formalno neutralan, bio jasno pro-Savezni\u010dki orijentisan. Pomagao je Grcima kada je Gr\u010dka bila okupirana, \u00a0nastavio je da neguje vojnu saradnju Jugoslovenske i Francuske vojske i bezmalo pune tri godine uspeva da izdr\u017ei pritisak sila Osovine. Ostatak rata, Princ Pavle je proveo u ku\u0107nom pritvoru pod kontrolom Britanaca u Keniji.\u00a0<a title=\"#\" href=\"http:\/\/www.princesselizabeth.org\/\">Kneginja Jelisaveta<\/a>, njegova jedina k\u0107i, pribavila je informacije od britanske Uprave specijalnih informacija (SOE) Ministarstva inostranih poslova u Londonu i objavila ih u Beogradu 1990. godine u srpskom izdanju biografije Kneza Pavla. Izvornu knjigu \u201ePavle od Jugoslavije\u201c je napisao Nil Balfur, a objavio Iglet Pabli\u0161ing u Londonu, 1980. godine.<\/p>\n<p>Posleratne komunisti\u010dke vlasti proglasile su Kneza Pavla dr\u017eavnim neprijateljem. Zabranjen mu je povratak u Jugoslaviju i sva njegova imovina je konfiskovana. Umro je u Parizu 14. septembra 1976. u 83. godini, a sahranjen u \u0160vajcarskoj.
