Prestolonaslednik Aleksandar izdaje slede\u0107e saop\u0161tenje:<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDuboko zabrinut zbog nesre\u0107nih prilika koje su, na \u017ealost, zadesile mog dragog ro\u0111aka i prijatelja, Nj.V. Kralja \u010carlsa III, a podstaknut njegovom hrabro\u0161\u0107u da, uprkos bolesti, informacije o svom zdravstvenom stanju podeli sa svojim narodom, \u0161aljem slede\u0107u poruku podr\u0161ke, ali tako\u0111e i razumevanja i saose\u0107anja. Ljubav i briga svih nas koji ga poznajemo, kao i njegovog naroda, svih koji duboko brinemo za njega, pru\u017ea podr\u0161ku Njegovom Veli\u010danstvu da istraje i dobije ovu najva\u017eniju bitku. Vest da je bolest u ranoj fazi daje velike nade.<\/p>\n<p>Nesre\u0107ne re\u010di: \u201ekarcinom\u201c nikako nisu ne\u0161to \u0161to bilo ko \u017eeli da \u010duje. O tome mogu da govorim i i sa li\u010dne strane, jer odli\u010dno znam kako se ose\u0107ate kada ih \u010dujete. Statistike ve\u0107 sada pokazuju da je, kada se nedavno \u010dulo za prethodno probleme koje je Njegovo Veli\u010danstvo imao sa prostatom, broj preventivnih pregleda u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu znatno porastao. Zato bi ljudi i trebalo da \u010duju i moja iskustva, da uvide kako je to ne\u0161to \u0161to mo\u017ee svima nama da se desi. Ali kada smo odgovorni prema sebi, ishod mo\u017ee biti dobar.<\/p>\n<p>U decembru pro\u0161le godine saznao sam da imam rak prostate u ranoj fazi. Godinu dana ranije, bio sam na redovnom pregledu, doktori su uradili kontrolu magnetnom rezonancom i uo\u010dili ne\u0161to sumnjivo. Ura\u0111ena je biopsija i tada je sve bilo u redu. Godinu dana kasnije, iako nisam ose\u0107ao nikakve probleme, magnetna rezonanca je ponovo pokazala slike koje su zabrinule lekare, ali ovoga puta rezultati biopsije su pokazali ono od \u010dega svi strahujemo. U tom trenutku, bio sam prestravljen. Ali nisam bio sam. I ne govorim samo o porodici i prijateljima koji su znali i pru\u017eili podr\u0161ku, a koja mi je toliko zna\u010dila i ne mo\u017ee se opisati re\u010dima, ve\u0107 i o svim drugim ljudima koji se bore sa ovom bole\u0161\u0107u.
