Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted this evening the opening of the exhibition “A modern Royal Household” for the first time in our region. The exhibition shows exceptional restoration and contemporary artistic decoration of Their Royal Highnesses the Danish Crown Prince Couple’s Residence – Frederik VIII’s Palace in Amalienborg, Copenhagen. This extraordinary exhibition is organized by The Royal Palace Fund, The Danish House in Serbia, Danish Cultural Institute and the Crown Prince Alexander Foundation for Education and Culture. At the same time, an official beginning of work of The Danish House in Serbia was introduced.
The Danish House in Serbia will be the first Danish cultural institution in the Western Balkans. Guests were addressed by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, Mr. Noa Jankovic, Chairman of the Danish House in Serbia and Mr. Bertel Haarder, Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, fmr. Minister, in the presence of HE Michael Borg-Hansen, Danish Ambassador to Serbia and several members of Danish Parliament.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed the guests and emphasized: “My wife and I are very happy to be the hosts of this extraordinary event organized through the successful cooperation between the Danish House in Serbia, the Danish Cultural Institute and my Foundation for Education and Culture. This exhibition and the founding of the Danish House of Serbia is a unique opportunity for cultural exchange between Danish and Serbian society. I am certain it will greatly contribute to dialogue and intercultural understanding, as well as, I hope, to improve economic relations between our two countries”.
