Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Philip hosted a fundraising dinner last night at Claridge’s Hotel in London, in aid of victims of floods in Serbia, especially children.

This event was part of huge humanitarian efforts initiated by the Royal couple of Serbia to help victims of disastrous floods that affected this country last month leaving tens of thousands of people homeless and struggling to get back to normal life.

In her letter sent to people of good will all around the world, HRH Crown Princess Katherine has emphasized: “Serbia is facing an enormous crisis due to huge floods. It is the worst flooding in 120 years. Owing to the situation, we feel obliged to change the purpose of all our forthcoming events to raise funds to help children who are now homeless due to tragic flooding. Families have been separated and are still looking for their loved ones. Water and food are scarse. Serbia’s homeless children now need food, baby food, diapers, all kind of clothes, medicine, bottled water, disinfection and hygienic products. Dear friends, your generous support will be greatly appreciated in this hour of need for our people“.

Besides Their Royal Highnesses this extraordinary humanitarian event was attended by HE Mr and Mrs Ognjen Pribicevic, ambassador of Serbia to the United Kingdom, The Rt Hon Sir Desmond de Silva and his daughter Ms Victoria de Silva, granddaughter of HRH Prince Tomislav and godchild of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, HE Mr and Mrs Khaled Al-Duwaisan, Ambassador of Kuwait to the United Kingdom and Dean of diplomatic corps, Lord and Lady Stevens of Ludgate and over hundred other distinguished guests.
