Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended tonight the Academy at the Russian House in Belgrade, where the Crown Prince and HE Mr Alexander Chepurin, ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia unveiled a bust of HM King Alexander I.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander has emphasized in his address: “My wife and I were guests of the French government yesterday in Marseilles, where the tribute to my grandfather King Alexander was paid. French government made a great honour to my family and I. Today I am here with you at the Russian House. My grandfather was a great friend of Russian people, and Russian people were always great friends of us Serbs. King Alexander I was held in high esteem both in the East and in the West, and therefore I am very happy to be with you here tonight. Long live the friendship between our people!”
HE Mr Alexander Chepurin, ambassador of Russia, emphasized true friendship between King Alexander I and Russian Tsar Nicholas II. He said that their destinies were intertwined. He added that Russian and Serbian people could be proud of their rulers with a name of Alexander.
His Grace Arsenije Vicar Bishop of Toplica consecrated the bust.
Their Royal Highnesses attended very interesting cultural program after the ceremony.
