On the occasion of the positive decision of the High Court in Belgrade in the process of General Dragoljub Draza Mihailovic’s rehabilitation, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander issues the following statement:

“I welcome this long awaited positive decision from the High Court in Belgrade on the rehabilitation of General Dragoljub Draza Mihailovic. This is a great and positive day for Serbia and our people. One of the greatest injustices in modern Serbian history has been finally rectified. It was not only an injustice to a patriotic man, it was also an injustice against our country and our people. This judgment is of crucial importance for national reconciliation. We must do everything to overcome the differences that still exist between us for the sake of our common and a better future. What I have many times said so far, I say once again today: feuding brothers need to be reconciled, as Saint Sava, the spiritual father of our nation, taught us. National reconciliation can only be based on truth, correcting injustice and forgiveness. We pray for all who have lost their lives on all sides.

I would like to congratulate and thank all the applicants for the rehabilitation of General Mihailovic: Mr. Vojislav Mihailovic, the grandson of General Mihailovic, the Association of the Yugoslav Army in the Fatherland, Serbian Liberal Council, Association of political prisoners and victims of the communist regime, publishing company “Pogledi”, Professor Kosta Cavoski, Professor Smilja Avramov and all their legal representatives. My special thanks goes to Professor Oliver Antic, for the brilliant and very impressive closing arguments at the last hearing of the judicial process”  emphasized Crown Prince Alexander in his statement.
