ENVOYS OF HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER LAY WREATH ON 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF KUMANOVO BATTLE
Belgrade, 28 October 2012 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II entitled Mr. Milorad Savicevic, member of the Crown Cabinet and Mr. Darko Spasic, member of the legal team, to lay a wreath on his behalf marking the 100th anniversary of great Kumanovo battle at the monument of Serbian heroes on Zebrnjak hill, near Kumanovo, in FYR of Macedonia. 
H.E. Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic, Prime Minister of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Nikola Selakovic, Minister of justice and public adminitration, H.E. Mr. Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, His Grace Vicar Bishop of Hvosno Atanasije, Lieutenant General Ljubisa Dikovic, Chief of staff of Serbian Army, representatives of the Government of FYR of Macedonia, numeorus representatives of Serbian organizations in this country, as well as great number of citizens also attended this event.
Kumanovo battle was the first of three great battles the Serbian Army has won against the Ottoman Empire during the First Balkan War. The Comander of the First Serbian Army, that was the major Serbian force near Kumanovo, was then HRH Crown Prince Alexander, later HM King Alexander I of Yugoslavia, grandfather of HRH Crown Prince Alexander II. The chief of staff of Supreme command of Serbian Army was General Radomir Putnik, who was promoted to the rank of Voyvoda (Marshal) after the Kumanovo battle.
