CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN CHARITY EVENT IN
ATHENS ORGANIZED BY LIFELINE HELLAS
Athens, 17 December 2009 – The American
College of Greece organized a special event in honour of HRH
Crown Princess Katherine and her humanitarian work at the
amphitheatre of the College premises in Agia Paraskevi in
Athens.
Their Royal Highnesses addressed the students
and their hosts, Dr. David Horner, President of the College and
Mrs. Olga Julius, the College Principal. Present were also HE
Mr. Dragan Zupanjevac, Serbian Ambassador to Greece and his
spouse, Mrs. Emmie Tricardsos, spouse of Mr. John Tricardos,
President of the Board of Directors of Lifeline Hellas
Humanitarian Organization, Mrs. Angeliki Margariti Andrews,
daughter in law of Crown Princess Katherine, Mrs. Betty
Roumeliotis, sister of Crown Princess Katherine and Mrs. Betty
Arkoudea.
The annual film was shown about the
humanitarian activities of Crown Princess Katherine.
This gathering also presented the
collaboration between Lifeline Hellas Humanitarian Organization,
which is under the Patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine,
with the American College of Greece in the Children Helping
Children action in collecting toys, clothing and footwear for
the orphans in Serbia. The presents collected with the kind help
of the students will be given to the children during the
traditional Christmas reception at the White Palace on 4
January.
The Royal Couple gave an interview for the
monthly College newspaper on the theme “The Joy of Giving”.
The American College of Greece is recognized
as an important donor and supporter of Crown Princess Katherine
humanitarian activities. In the past they helped with the
donation of a Mercedes van, which was delivered to the Home for
children without parental care in Zvecanska Street in Belgrade.
