His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander attended this evening the Hanukkah candle lighting ceremony at Belgrade Synagogue.

The ceremony, officiated by Mr. Isaac Asiel, Great Rabbi of Serbia, and was also attended by H.E. Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, President of Serbia, Mufti of Serbia, Muhamed ef. Jusufspahic, Pater Leopold Rohmes, H.E. Mr. Yossef Levy, Ambassador of Israel, H.E. Mr. Laurent Louis Stokvis, Ambassador, of the Netherlands, , H.E. Mr. Michael Davenport, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, H.E. Ms. Mette Kjuel Nielsen, Ambassador of Denmark, H.E. Mrs. Mercedes Ruiz Zapata, Ambassador of Mexico, H.E. Mr. Armando Varricchio, Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Mr. Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Ambassador of Turkey as well as many others.

 Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple (the Second Temple) in Jerusalem.
