CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER LAYS WREATH ON THE MONUMENT OF
PILOTS KILLED DURING THE APRIL WAR
Belgrade, 6 April 2011 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince
Alexander II, accompanied by Prof. Dr Dragoljub Kavran, member of the Crown
Council, laid wreath today at the monument of pilots killed in the 1941 April
war, near Hotel Yugoslavia on the Zemun quay, that grateful compatriots
dedicated to their bravery.
During air fights on that day 6 April 1941, 11 Nazi aircraft
were shot down. Pilots of the Royal Air Force showed extraordinary bravery and
skills flying Yugoslav made IKA 3 planes.
The laying of wreaths was organized on 70th anniversary of
bombing of Belgrade 6 April 1941, the date when the World War II began for the
Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
