Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine and Mrs Alison Andrews, daughter of the Royal Couple celebrated Christmas Eve this evening at the Royal Palace in Dedinje.
In the morning His Royal Highness went to the woods and traditionally cut the Yule log and brought it to the Royal Palace.
The traditional burning of the Yule log took place in front of the Royal Palace and was blessed by Father Vukasin Milicevic, representative of St. Sava Temple and Father Panayotis Kartasios, representative of the Greek Orthodox Church in Serbia.
Beside the members of the Royal Family there were also present members of the Gendarmerie, employees of The Royal Palace, as well as representatives of the media. The burning of the Yule log was followed by a traditional reception for all present at the Royal Palace.
Crown Prince Alexander once again called citizens of Serbia and Republic of Srpska to be optimistic in 2016, and that we all together work for the benefit of our country, of each individual and for the better future of our children, because nothing could be more important than that.
Their Royal Highnesses will attend the Christmas Liturgy on Christmas, Wednesday, January 7, on 9 am at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Belgrade that will be officiated by His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, and afterwards Princess Katherine will visit children hospitals and orphanage Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj in Belgrade and present gifts to children who are there wish them all a Merry Christmas.
