Historical event at The
White Palace
Belgrade, 1 December 2003 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and the members
of the advisory bodies of the Crown organized a press conference at The
White Palace today, presenting the document of the advisory bodies of the
Crown entitled “For democracy, stability and continuity through the
Constitutional Parliamentary Kingdom of Serbia”.
The conference was opened by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II who addressed
numreous representatives of the media and emphasized that Monarchy is not by
itself, just as republic, a universal remedy that will cure all evil and
injustice. The Crown Prince reminded that in his every message he pointed at
democratic principals, equality of all citizens, regardless of ethnic
origin, religion or political beliefs.
“I speak of the need to respect everybody, for that is what we lack the
most. I speak to remind and to warn. That is the role and the duty of the
Crown in a Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchy” – emphasized the Crown
Prince.
Then the Crown Prince pointed at the importance of the letter addressed
to him by His Holyness Pavle, the Patriarch of Serbia and in addition said:
“The reestablishment of the Kingdom of Serbia is a matter of law and
justice, a matter of democracy and national interest. The above mentioned
letter speaks about it, as well as the document that you are about to hear.”
After that, the text of the document signed by the Crown Council, the
Privy Council, the Crown Cabinet and the Legal Council was read. The Crown
Prince then left and Mr Dragomir Acovic gave the word to the numerous
representatives of the media.
The representatives of the advisory body of the Crown provided the
journalists with the additional explanations regarding the presented
document.
