Belgrade, 11 October 2002 – HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II congratulated
today Professor Milorad Pavić, one of the most important Serbian novelists
and the Member of Crown Council, on winning the prestigious Andrić Prize.
“Hearing the news of your winning the Andrić Prize has made me very glad.
You are certainly accustomed to awards, but I still believe that being the
laureate of the acknowledgement that carries the name of our first Nobel
Prize winner is something not easy to be compared with.
I am taking this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done as
the member of the Crown Council, and to wish that the downpour of awards for
your literary work never cease”.
