HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II OPENS THE
XVI OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY CONGRESS OF YUGOSLAVIA
Belgrade, 04 November 2002 – As the honorary member of the Board, HRH
Crown Prince Aleksandar II formally opened the XVI Otorhinolaryngology
Congress of Yugoslavia with international participants, which is held at
“Jugopetrol” building from 3 to 6 November 2002.
The Crown Prince expressed his pleasure particularly because of the large
number of international participants and works applied for the Congress, as
well as because of the arrival of foreign experts who came to pass on their
knowledge and experience to our doctors who were facing lack of literature
and up to date equipment during the last decade.
“Our country is quickly returning to Europe both in political and
economic field, and courses like this and exchange of knowledge it is
returning to Europe in medical field, too”, said the Crown Prince.
He also added that the Royal Hose is actively working to bring new
equipment to hospitals throughout the country, and to enable the best
students of medicine and doctors to go to the best hospitals and the best
universities in the world to continue their education, as well as to bring
reputed experts to our country and let them show in practice how patients
are treated in the world today.
The opening speech at the ceremony was delivered by the President of
Otorhinolaryngology Association of Yugoslavia and the director of the
Clinical Center Prof. Dr. Vojko Djukic.
The present were addressed by Serbian Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Tomica
Milosavljevic, the President of Serbian Medical Society Dr. Zoran Ivankovic,
the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine academician Vladimir Kostic and the
President of “Hemofarm Concern” Mr. Miodrag Babic.
The XVI Otorhinolaryngology Congress of Yugoslavia “ENT&ENDO 2002”
welcomed fifteen prominent guests from abroad and over three hundred
otorhinolaryngologists from Yugoslavia and the Republic of Srpska.
During four days of the Congress, beside foreign experts’ lectures, an
international endoscopic course will be organized as well, three round
tables with our leading experts and three mini-symposiums, which will
provide the participants with up to date information on treatments of the
most frequent diseases and on the use of contemporary technology in the
field of endocrinology.
HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II will tomorrow organize a formal reception
for the foreign experts, and he also welcomed and wished successful work to
the participants of the Congress at the reception organized on the occasion
of its beginning at the City Hall last night.
