HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II VISITS
ETHNOGRAPHIC INSTITUTE OF SERBIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS
Belgrade, 15 January 2003 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II visited
Ethnographic Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), the
central institution in Serbia that works on systematic studying of folklore
culture, lifestyle and customs, ethnogenesis and ethnic history of Serbian
people and other ethnic groups.
Crown Prince Alexander II was warmly welcomed by the director, Prof. Dr.
Dragana Radojicic, and then he was greeted by an authentic folklore song
performed by two members of “Moba” vocal group, employees of the Institute.

The meeting at the cabinet of director Radojicic was attended by
academicians Dimitrije Stefanovic, Gojko Subotic and Lasta Dzapovic, as well
as the oldest ethnologist in Serbia, president of the Ethnologists
Association of Serbia Dr. Miljana Radovanovic. The hosts introduced the
Crown Prince with the work of Ethnographic Institute.
Director Radojicic explained that despite the difficult financial
situation the Institute publishes ethnology and anthropology works and
distributes them in 70 countries, by which it preserves our tradition and
presents the heritage of Serbian people.
The hosts then took Crown Prince Alexander for a short tour of the
