In the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander of Serbia and Prince Radu of Romania, the humanitarian football match between Associations of Kingdom of Serbia and Kingdom of Romania took place at BASK Stadium. All the funds raised from tickets and donations collected at the match are in aid of University Children Hospital in Tirsova. The game score was Kingdom of Serbia 0 – 3 Kingdom of Romania.
The “Kingdom of Serbia” Association that works under auspices of Karadjordjevic Royal Family has organized this match in a memory of the first international match between Serbia and Romania that took place in Belgrade on 8 June 1922 in honour of the wedding of King Alexander I (the first honourable president of BASK) and Princess Maria of Romania, who was a benefactor of University Children Hospital in Tirsova. The Association promotes humanity and highest values that connect our two nations in this way, nations that nurtured friendly relationships through the history.
More than 50 guests from Romania, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Mihailo and Princess Ljubica, representatives of diplomatic corps, members of sport clubs from all over the country and several hundred citizens have attended the game. The goal of the Association is to gradually raise awareness about importance of this event, and to mark the 100th Anniversary of the first in 2022, National football teams of our countries play a friendly game in Belgrade in honour of this event.
All the players and visitors had the opportunity to refresh themselves with “Royal Spring” water.
