MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR HM KING PETER II OF YUGOSLAVIA

Belgrade, 3 November 2010 – The memorial service for His
Majesty King Peter II of Yugoslavia, officiated by His Grace Vicar Bishop of
Hvosno Atanasije, was held today at the St. Sava church near the St. Sava Temple
in Belgrade. Today was the 40th anniversary of death of the late King, father of
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II. Service was attended by Mr. Matija
Beckovic, member of the Crown Council, Mr. Milorad Savicevic, member of the
Crown Cabinet, members of Kingdom of Serbia association and great number of
citizens who came to pay their respect to the late King.
His Majesty King Peter II of Yugoslavia, the last King of
Yugoslavia, died on 3 November 1970 in the hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was
buried in St. Sava Church in Libertyville, Illinois and is the only European
Monarch buried in the United States.
