As part of the multi-day visit to Chicago, HRH Princess Danica attended the “Princess’ Evening” event, where she shared her thoughts on the importance of family, preserving national identity, the Serbian language, roots and traditions, as well as the values that need to be passed on to future generations, in a sincere and heartfelt conversation with members of the Serbian community.

The conversation was led by Mr. Antonije Kovačević, Editor-in-Chief of the Serbian Times portal, and the topics discussed were of particular importance to the Serbian people in their homeland and abroad.

Her Royal Highness was particularly impressed by the meetings with our compatriots in Chicago, who, with their dedication, preserve the Serbian language, culture and tradition, while building strong ties between Serbia and the countries in which they live. Their love for their homeland, their origins and customs testifies to the strength of the Serbian diaspora and its importance in preserving national identity and connecting the Serbian people around the world.

During the event, the “Serbian Camp” project was also presented, the aim of which is to bring together young people from Serbia and the diaspora, strengthen the sense of belonging, foster national identity and encourage new friendships among young people of Serbian origin.

HRH Hereditary Prince Philip and HRH Princess Danica express their gratitude to everyone who attended this meeting and contributed to strengthening the unity of the Serbian people with their presence. Such encounters once again confirm that love for Serbia, its traditions and cultural heritage knows no boundaries and remains a permanent bond that connects our people, regardless of where they live.
