SAVA DAY CONGRATULATIONS
Belgrade, 26 January 2006 – On
the occasion of a major holiday
dedicated to the first Serbian
Archbishop and educator, the founder
of Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbian
State and educational system – St.
Sava, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II
extended his congratulations to His
Holiness Patriarch Pavle, V. Rev. Dr
Vladan Perisic – Dean of the Faculty
of Theology, H.E. Prof. Dr Milan
Radulovic – Serbian Minister of
Religion, H.E. Slobodan Vuksanovic –
Serbian Minister of Education and
Sport and Dr Milan Savic – Director
of “St. Sava” Hospital.
“St. Sava is a tremendously
important figure in the history and
culture of Serbian people, being the
founder of the Serbian Church,
Serbian State and education. Owing
to him, Serbian literature was born
and art flourished. He was the
unifier who brought to the Balkans
neighbours and worked for mutual
benefit of its people. The name of
St. Sava is written in golden
letters in the history of Serbian
people. For ages, generations have
remembered him with love, respect
and gratitude. And we are doing
exactly that today”, stated Crown
Prince Alexander II in His letter of
congratulations.
The Crown Prince wished a happy
Patron Saint’s Day to all the
teachers, pupils and students who
celebrate this holiday, and wished
them a lot of success in treading
the footsteps of this great teacher
and protector of ours.

Prince Alexander and Crown Princess
Catherine shall spend St. Sava Day
visiting Toronto, Canada. On January
27th Royal Couple shall host a
cocktail in Granit Club. This
occasion will be an opportunity to
raise funds for modernization of
Neonatal Intensive Care Units in
Hospitals in Serbia and Montenegro.
Their Royal Highnesses will be the
guests of honour on St. Sava Ball in
Royal York Hotel in Toronto on
January 28th, and on Sunday, January
29th Royal Couple will be attending
Church Service in St. Sava Serbian
Orthodox Church in Mississauga. The
Royal Couple will be given a VIP
tour of the Sick Kid’s Hospital in
Toronto in order to visit the
respiratory reconstruction facility
as well as the cancer and cardiac
