Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended the opening of the unique exhibition “Tradition for the future, throughout the silk threads” at Progress Gallery organized by Maruska brand headed by General Manager Mrs. Maruska Topalovic, one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in Serbia.

The exhibition consists of scarves with a variety of motifs from Serbian art, and it is organized in cooperation with museums, galleries and other cultural institutions of historical significance. Part of the assortment was inspired by the motifs from the ceiling of the basement at the Royal Palace, painted by Russian architect Nikolai Krasnov, who was hired during the construction of the building by H.M. King Alexander I.

“I am very glad that today we are here at the Progress Gallery, at the beautiful exhibition of our Maruska’s scarfs. I am very happy and proud of Maruska’s great work, efforts and the success she has achieved. She is the proof that we need to work hard and follow our dreams. Maruska’s scarfs are worn by the most famous personalities in the world, including HM Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Swedish King, and so on. I am also proud of the motives for these scarves being also from our Royal Palace in Dedinje. My Foundation has been cooperating with Maruska for a long time, she is not only an artist, but a great humanist. Congratulations on the wonderful exhibition and my best wishes for even more success in further work”, said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

Apart from the motif from the Royal Palace, there are also paintings of Paja Jovanovic, Nadezda Petrovic, Milos Golubovic, Sava Sumanovic, Katarina Ivanovic, Petar Lubarda, Mina Karadzic-Vukomanovic, details from Studenica, Zica, Hilandar, National Assembly, Pirot rugs and much more.
