PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT ZAJECAR
€4,500 incubator delivered to the local
Health Center
Visit to the elementary school “Ljuba Nesic”
Belgrade, 8 November 2002 – TRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown
Prince Katherine visited Zajecar today where after the reception at the Town
Hall they delivered “Draeger” incubator to the local Health Center and then
visited elementary school “Ljuba Nesic”.
Upon their arrival to Zajecar, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess were
welcomed by the Mayor Mr. Goran Petrunovic with his associates, general
managers of the biggest Zajecar companies (brewery ”7 September”, “Imlek”, ”Zitopromet”,
“Kristal” and “Porcelan”), representatives of the Roman Catholic Church,
Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Education and Sport.
Mr. Perunovic presented Zajecar as the town of long tradition, and
cultural center, putting special emphasis on the historic importance of
“Felix Romuliana”, the remains of Roman culture in our country originating
from the third century A.D., located in Gamzigrad near Zajecar.
He also added Zajecar was the town where people of different nations
lived together, and the Crown Prince expressed his pleasure for Zajecar had
good national and religious relationships, which sets a good example to
everybody.
Current situation in Zajecar municipality and businesses of local
companies were discussed at the meeting.
On that occasion, the Crown Prince pointed out it was necessary that the
companies that used to do business well, made solid business plans and
strategies to bring back the old partners and attract new investors.
After the reception at the Town Hall the Crown Prince and Crown Princess
visited elementary school “Ljuba Nesic”, situated in the building of the old
High School that was built in 1892.
The Crown Prince and Crown Princess were welcomed by a thousand pupils of
this school, and the younger of them prepared a short program.
Notably excited after the performance by the young ones, the Crown Prince
and the Crown Princess invited them and their teachers to visit the Royal
Palace.
During the visit to the Health Center in Zajecar, Their Royal Highnesses
delivered the € 4,500 worth “Draeger” incubator to the director Dr. Dragana
Golubovic.
“This incubator is only a part of the humanitarian aid raised during the
great event of re-opening the White Palace, when over €1,000,000 was
raised.”
Her Royal Highness reminded of the difficult years that were behind us
and expressed her hope the better times were coming, adding:
“I believe this incubator will be the source of health for the new born
babies and the source of joy for their parents”.
The director Dr. Dragana Golubovic warmly thanked for the donation, and
then took the guests for a round of pediatric ward.
