Belgrade, 4 September 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown
Princess Katherine were in Paracin today, where they visited prominent local
companies: Serbian Glass Factory, “Paracinka” candy factory and Cement
Factory Novi Popovac.
In front of the Town Hall Their Royal Highnesses were warmly welcomed by
several hundred citizens.
Pleasantly surprised, the Crown Prince addressed the citizens: “My wife
and I are very happy to be in Paracin today. This is our first coming to
your beautiful town on the Crnica river, in the heart of Pomoravlje region”.
Emphasizing that this is a town that cherishes its historical heritage,
but also works hard on building up a better future, the Crown Prince said:
“Our greatest duty is to strengthen our economy, and in that way create
conditions for our young people to stay in their country”.
Thanking for the warm welcome, the Crown Prince with his wife continued
the visit by going to the Health Center where a mobile incubator was
delivered, through mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess
Katherine.
Their Royal Highnesses then visited companies that are of importance for
the entire economic development of our country – Serbian Glass Factory,
“Paracinka” candy factory and Cement Factory Novi Popovac.
Pointing out that our future is in work and well-educated young people,
the Crown Prince expressed his support to joint efforts to keep our young
people in the country.
“Only by creating new jobs, applying new technologies and modernizing of
production can we join the developed countries and become a part of the
great European family, where we have always belonged to”, emphasized HRH
Crown Prince Alexander II in his speech at the Cement Factory in Novi
Popovac
