His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander sent a letter of condolence to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej on the occasion of the death of His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolaj of Dabar and Bosnia. In a letter of condolence Crown Prince Alexander pointed out:

“Your Holiness,

On the occasion of the death of His Eminence Nikolaj, Metropolitan of Dabar and Bosnia, please accept my deep condolences, as well as of my family and the entire Royal House.

I was lucky to meet and talk with the Metropolitan on many occasions, and I knew him as a spiritual leader of deep faith and great responsibility. He led the metropolitanate of Dabar and Bosnia at the time of the biggest temptations with firmness and conviction in the truth of God’s word. He was a man of love and hope, which he brought to his neighbors, and which his neighbors returned. He was a priest and a man, a leader and a servant of Christ’s people.

During his lifetime Metropolitan Nikolaj was a light in the darkness. Now, when after a long illness, the Lord called him, I am convinced that he will be a great champion before his Creator’s throne of the Christ-bearing Serbian people, as well as of all those who believe in Christ and salvation, and who are shrowded in Christ!

We hope and pray that God awarded peace and a heavenly abode to the newly arrived soul, and trust that he will not be forgotten in his flock, and among the people of goodwill everywhere.

I am humbly asking Your Holiness to convey our condolences to the Holy Synod and Assembly, the entire Serbian Orthodox Church, and particularly the faithful of the Diocese of Dabar and Bosnia.

Yours in Christ the Lord,

Alexander”
