Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended the ceremony marking the 115th anniversary of founding and the 10th anniversary of re-establishment of the Serbian Medical Chamber at the Home of the Guard in Topcider.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander addressed the hosts and guests at the ceremony recalling that in 1901 a law was passed on medical chamber by which it became the legitimate representative of the medical profession in the Kingdom of Serbia and that its task was to discuss issues related to the medical profession interest as well as the interests of public health.

“Today, after 115 years, the Serbian Medical Chamber is the institution of the highest reputation, which represents the medical profession with dignity. I congratulate you on this important jubilee and wish you to continue your successful work in the next 100 years” – said the Crown Prince.

Beside His Royal Highness the speakers at the ceremony were Prim. Dr. Vesna Jovanovic, director of the Serbian Medical Chamber, Dr. Otmar Kloiber, Secretary General of the World Medical Association, Dr Jacques de Haller, President of the Standing Committee of European Doctors and Prof. Dr. Nebojsa Jovanic, President of the Chamber of Medical Doctors of the Republic of Srpska.

The cultural and artistic program was performed by “Labyrinth” choir, Bora Dugic accompanied by Boban Kopunovic and Tatjana Olujic accompanied by Darinka Paunovic.

Upon completion of the formal ceremony the members and guests of the Serbian Medical Chamber will visit the White Palace where they will attend a reception to mark the opening of the Seventh Serbian Diaspora Medical Conference organized by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine.
