The Ognjanovic family, little Tijana, her mother Jelena and father Nebojsa arrived at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston where little Tijana, who was diagnosed six years ago with restrictive cardiomyopathy, is undergoing examinations and tests in order to determine her condition and include her on the waiting list for a matching organ prior to the heart transplantation as the only way to save her young life.
The specialized medical flight to Houston was comfortable and Tijana handled it very well.
Tijana spent all day yesterday in hospital where she was subjected to various medical tests. The first impressions of the hospital as well as dedicated doctors’ care are very encouraging. Waiting for a matching organ can last for several months during that time what is most important is to maintain Tijana’s condition stable. The Ognjanovic family is very patient, faith as well as support of the best medical care is available. In order to provide Tijana with peace and tranquility necessary for her recovery the doctors’ recommendations are for the family to be secluded for a while from the public attention and to lessen the tension.
The Ognjanovic family has a long journey ahead and is very grateful for all the help and support from friends, family, media, socially responsible companies and all people of good will that made this journey for Tijana’s recovery possible.
