On the occasion of World Day against osteoporosis, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine, patron of the Serbian Association Against Osteoporosis, stressed the importance for the women of Serbia to have the right information about this disease as a way of prevention.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine, the patron of Serbian Association Against Osteoporosis supports all the work of the society that information about this disease be as much wide spread as possible, and that all people concerned get accurate information.
Women are much more frequently affected by osteoporosis than men. Although this is a disease of senior age, it is very important that women get the right information much earlier, when they are young, in order to prevent it.
“Women are pillars of our society, as mothers, as daughters, wives and a very important part of the work force, therefore they take care of our future in many ways. As a consequence of osteoporosis the quality of bones deteriorate, and that leads to fractures, and fractures means the loss of independence and a lower quality of life, not just of your lives, but also the quality of lives of people around you.
I appeal to all women to take care of their health without delay. You cannot neglect your health because of every day obligations to your families. When you take care of yourself you take care of your family, as well.
Take care of your bones, visit your doctor, learn more about osteoporosis, and try to help yourself and your loved ones by protecting yourself and keep this disease under control”, emphasized HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
