CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II ATTENDS SERBIAN MILITARY EVENT ON
THE EVE OF SERBIA’S STATEHOOD DAY
Belgrade, 14 February 2011 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince
Alexander II attended tonight a Solemn Event for the February 15, The Statehood
Day of Serbia and Day of the Serbian Military, hosted by the H.E. Mr. Dragan
Sutanovac, Minister of Defense and Lt. Col. Gen. Miloje Miletic, Chief of Staff
of the Serbian Army, at the Old Headquarters building of the Serbian Army in
Kneza Milosa street. His Royal Highness was accompanied by Mr. Dusan Babac,
member of the Privy Council.
The event was well attended by distinguished guests – members
of the Serbian Government and Parliament , members of the diplomatic corps,
among whom were representatives of international organizations working in
Serbia, as well as eminent representatives of cultural, scientific and artistic
communities.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II will attend the
central celebration of the Statehood Day of Serbia as well as the 207th
anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising in Orasac, near Topola, on Tuesday, 15
February, followed by a memorial in St. George’s Church, Oplenac. His Royal
Highness will lay a wreath and pay respects at the tomb of the Supreme leader of
the First Serbian Uprising Djordje Petrovic Karadjordje, the Founding father of
the Karadjordjevic Royal Dynasty.
