FAMOUS LAPAROSCOPIC SURGEON DR.
CONSTANTINIDIS WITH HIS COLLEAGUES OPERATES ON PATIENTS OF THE FIRST
SURGICAL CLINIC
Belgrade, 12 December 2002 – Famous laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Constantin
Constantinidis, who came to Belgrade two days ago, at the invitation of the
Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, performed several operations of
diaphragm hernia today, assisted by his colleagues from Greece and
colleagues from the First Surgical Clinic of the Clinical Center in
Belgrade.
Dr. Constantinidis applied the most advanced techniques that so far
haven’t been seen in practice in our country, while at the same time over
200 surgeons from our country followed the course of the operation through
video and audio link at the conference room.
This joint project with great importance in further approach to treatment
of this disease, followed after a visit to the Clinical Center of Serbia,
meeting the patients, familiarizing with the equipment and hospital
facilities.
Dr. Constantinidis expressed his hope that this will only be the
beginning of further experts’ cooperation and offered his help in the
future.
After successfully completed operations Dr. Constantinidis took a round
of the operated patients together with HRH Crown Princess Katherine, Mrs.
Titi Apostolopulous and Mr. Vasilis Apostolopulous.
Mr. Titi Apostolopulous and Mr. Vasilis Apostolopulous represent “G.
Apostolopulous Holdings A.D.”, the group that owns Medical Center Athens and
a chain of health care facilities in Greece, Russia and Balkan countries.

Dr. Constantinidis will give a lecture on “Laparoscopic approach in
treating diaphragm hernia and GERD” at the School of Medicine at Belgrade
