DESCENDANTS AND THE HISTORIANS SOCIETY FROM ZRENJANIN VISIT THE
ROYAL PALACE
Belgrade, 4 May 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander
II and Crown Princess Katherine received the representatives of the
Association of the War Volunteers and the Historians Society from
Zrenjanin at The Royal Palace in Dedinje today.
Mr. Borislav Novakovic greeted Their Royal
Highnesses on behalf of the present and introduced the Crown Prince
to the long tradition of the Association that was established by the
great-grandfather of the Crown Prince, King Peter I in 1903. The
youngest representatives of the Association presented the Crown
Prince with two books about the First Serbian Uprising and King
Peter I.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed the
guests, thanked for the presents, and wished for more encounters
like this in the future, emphasizing that it was up to us to
continue our glorious tradition and emphasized that our future are
the young:
“We must provide our young people with the
opportunity to educate themselves and to apply their knowledge in
the best way for the good of our country. We should encourage them
to stay here where their roots are” – emphasized the Crown Prince.
After a short conversation with Their Royal
Highnesses the guests took a tour of The Royal and The White Palace
escorted by the Palace guide and learned about the history of The
Royal Compound.
