DISCUSSION ON HUMANITARIAN SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY CONTINUED AT THE ROYAL
PALACE
The fourth coordinative meeting of
the representatives of republic and federal institutions, embassies of Great
Britain, Italy and Japan, non-governmental organizations and UN agencies was
organized today at the Royal Palace in Belgrade in order to continue
discussion on humanitarian situation in the country.
Besides representatives of Republic
Ministries of Social Welfare and Health, Republic Commissariat for Refugees
and Federal Secretariat for Health, representatives of Yugoslav and Serbian
Red Cross, foreign committees of the Red Cross that currently conduct their
programmes in Yugoslavia, representatives of European Agency for
Reconstruction and The World Bank attended the meeting.
The current topics in the health and
social welfare sectors were discussed at the meeting. Participants presented
their current programmes, the ways of their realization and problems they
are dealing with.
It is concluded that the meetings of
this kind contribute to better communication and promotion of co-operation,
and the next meeting has been announced for January 2002.
