Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Philip hosted a reception for Organization of Serbian students studying abroad (OSSI) this evening at the White Palace.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed guests and said: “Educated young people are our future. More and more young people from our country are going to study abroad. Many of them remain there. As they should remain available for their country, at the same time Serbia has to do anything possible to keep in contact with them. We have to invest in them, as our biggest resource. Therefore my Foundation for Education supports all students and graduates who want to continue their education, both here and abroad. The fact that we all gathered here this evening at the White Palace shows that all of us find this mission very important. My Foundation and I remain at your disposal for creating all together better conditions for students in Serbia, in order to prevent a ‘brain drain’ and to provide better future for our young people”.

Guests were also addressed by Mr. Bozin Nikolic, special envoy of H.E. Mr. Ivan Mrkic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Academician Dimitrije Stefanovic, Secretary General of Serbian Academy of sciences and arts (SASA), Mr. Milutin Stanisavljevic. President of OSSI, Mr. Aleksandar Jakovljevic, vice President of OSSI, Ms. Jovana Ruzicic, president of REPATS and Dr. Predrag Stojicic, president of “Serbia on the move” organization.

The Organisation of Serbian Students Abroad (OSSI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation led by Serbian students worldwide, founded in 1997. The principal goal of OSSI is to support and strengthen the community of Serbian students in the Diaspora by forming an extensive and dense network of local branches of its students at universities around the world with a goal of representing Serbia in best possible way.

The Royal Couple has supported this organization with great pleasure and will continue to support networking between our students studying abroad and our Diaspora in general with Institutions in Serbia.
