In honor of the Albania crossing centennial, a memorial rowing expedition took off today in front of the Rowing Club “Red Star” on Ada Ciganlija. The expedition will row 1,500 kilometers around the Balkan peninsula, from the city of Kavala to Corfu, where it will deliver a letter of gratitude “Honoring ancestors for future generations” to the Serbian home. The memorial expedition was seen off by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander, who is the patron of the Rowing Club “Red Star”.

The rowers who have ventured into this memorial expedition in honor of the Albania crossing centenary are Predrag Tripkovic, Negovan Spasic, Jovan Memedovic, Milos Ajzdekovic and Dragan Celebic.

“I am proud of the members of the club, which is under my patronage, taking part in this spectacular sporting event. I am very glad that they will in such a nice way represent Serbia in the mission of connecting the countries of the region” – emphasized Crown Prince Alexander in his statement.
