On the occasion of the Institute of Neonatology’s 90th anniversary an academy was organized at the National Theatre tonight, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, accompanied by the Crown Princess’ sister, Mrs. Betty Rumeliotis. The academy at the National Theatre was also attended by His Grace Andrej, Bishop of Toplica and Vicar Bishop of Serbian Patriarch, as well as by the representatives of the Ministry of Health of Serbia.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander addressed the guests and in his speech he said that he was sure that the Institute of Neonatology’s doctors and medical staff would continue their outstanding work in the decades to come, for the benefit of all our citizens.

“I am happy and proud that the Institute’s building was built under the patronage of my grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Maria of Yugoslavia. Since its foundation, this important medical institution has been devoted to health and the well being of newborn children and their mothers. My family has always helped health institutions in Serbia and I am very glad that this wonderful tradition continues today through the humanitarian foundation of my wife” – emphasized Crown Prince Alexander in his speech.

Director of the Institute of Neonatology Dr Milica Rankovic Janevski presented special charter for their long term altruistic support and significant contribution to work and development of the Institute of Neonatology.
