Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine attended the “Magic journey” theatre play for World Autism Awareness Day, at the Institution of Culture of Belgrade Municipality of Palilula. This inclusion musical performance was directed by Mr. Djordje Makarovic was organised by the Serbian Association for helping people with autism and Municipality of Palilula.
The event was also attended by Mrs. Brankica Jankovic, state secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, Mr. Vladimir Pesic, assistant minister at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, Mr. Stojan Nikolic, president of Palilula Municipality, Mrs. Vesna Petrovic, president of Serbian Association for helping people with autism and Mrs. Judita Lipovsek, regional representative of UNICEF in Serbia.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine is very much engaged in humanitarian activities that address the needs of most vulnerable in Serbia, and especially people with disabilities, persons that live with autism, their families, children, sick and poor. During the joint visit with Mrs. Ban Soon – Taek, wife of the Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Ban Ki-moon, to the center for autism “Dr. Olga Hadzi Antonovic” in July 2012, HRH Crown Princess Katherine and her Humanitarian Foundation donated a van to this centre, a present from “FEMMES D’EUROPE” organization and the Government of Luxembourg.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine will host an awareness raising event on Tuesday evening, 2 April 2013 at the White Palace, when the palace will be illuminated in blue, the traditional colour of the World Autism Awareness Campaign.
