Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted “Organ transplantation in Serbia” gathering today at the White Palace, organized by Astellas Pharma doo Company that launched their representative office in Serbia.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed the guests and said: “Serbia has very skilled and diligent doctors, but we need international support and know-how in very important areas such as transplantation, urology and oncology. Astellas Pharma is renewed pharmaceutical company from Japan with strong international position, and I am sure that your presence in Serbia will benefit our citizens.”
Doc. Dr Radomir Naumovic, Director of Clinic for nephrology at Clinical Center of Serbia has pointed out that number of organ transplantations in our country has increased over the previous year, and that was especially important that recently we had three heart transplantations after a ten years hiatus.
Mr Adam Pearson, General Manager of Astellas Pharma d.o.o. has emphasized: “We have ambitious plans in this region. By opening representative office in Belgrade, we would like to extend our support to patients and doctors in Serbia, and to benefit Serbian economy.”
H.E. Mr Masafumi Kuroki, Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Prof. Dr Vladimir Djukic, state secretary at the Ministry of health, and Prof. Dr Nebojsa Lalic, Dean of Medical Faculty in Belgrade also addressed participants.
