HRH Crown Prince Alexander II issued a statement regarding the March 24, Anniversary of the NATO bombing of Serbia:ž

“With great sadness we remember the terrible aggression and suffering imposed upon all our citizens, our country, and those that were tragically killed and their families. This was an unprecedented event of total aggression in Europe since World War Two.

Fourteen years later Serbia is still trying hard to recover from the appalling bombing of the people, our country and destroyed infrastructure. Once again, regrettably, it is confirmed that violence only produces more violence and pain, and that a permanent solution for the region of the former Yugoslavia and elsewhere can be found only in a peaceful way.

The lives that were lost and those who were injured must never be forgotten, they will always remain in our hearts, but for the memory of those that were killed we should turn to a brighter future for all our citizens, to Europe and the European Union– the great family of nations that we have to join and where we rightfully belong” – said the Crown Prince in his statement.
