Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, Honorary Patrons of the 2nd Serbian International Sports Medicine Conference, attended the opening ceremony of this conference organized by the Serbian Institute of Sport and Sports Medicine, with the support from the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the Association for Sports Medicine of Serbia, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia.
The official opening was also attended by Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sport in Turkey, Dr. Zlatibor Loncar, Minister of Health of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Vanja Udovicic, Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Fabio Pigozzi, President of International Federation of Sports Medicine and Mr. Goran Bojovic, Director of the Serbian Institute of Sport and Sports Medicine.
The goal of the conference is to exchange innovations, technologies, discoveries and results because it is known that sports medicine contributes not only to sports achievements, but also to the preservation of health of both athletes and new generations. Therefore, on this occasion, more than 30 eminent lecturers, doctors of various specialties and sports experts from Serbia and the world will share their experiences and results, and about 1.000 domestic and foreign experts in the field of sports medicine and sports sciences are expected to participate.
For the first time in our country the guests are members of FIMS led by President Prof. Fabio Pigozzi, who is also Rector of the University of Foro Italico in Rome. One of the leading experts in sports doping Prof. Janis Pitsiladis, will talk about the experiences and innovations in the field of doping, and similar topics will be discussed by the two ladies from Russia, Prof. Victoria Badtieva and Irina Zelenkova.
