Eleven Sumadija wineries presented their wines at the White Palace tonight. The organizers of this tasting of the best Sumadija wines for the representatives of the diplomatic corps, cultural and public life of Belgrade were the Association of Sumadija Winemakers and Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine. There were also attending Their Royal Highnesses Hereditary Prince Peter and Prince Alexander, Ms Alison Andrews and Ms Dunja Kusturica, members of the diplomatic corps and Advisory bodies to the Crown.
On this occasion, HRH Crown Prince Alexander expressed his satisfaction with the Association of Sumadija Winemakers who joined together in order to get a higher competitiveness of our wines in foreign markets. “I am glad to see Serbian entrepreneurs teaming up with the idea to put our dear Sumadija shoulder to shoulder with the most famous wine regions of the world. That is the proof of how much can be achieved through unity and working together”.
Among the exhibitors who presented their wines were: King’s winery Oplenac, wineries and wine cellars Aleksandrovic, Tarpos, Lipovac, Despotika, Stevanovic, Radovanovic, Rogan, Art Wine, Madzic and Arsenijevic, while the Cultural Association “Oplenac” entertained the guests through song and dance, presenting traditions and customs of Sumadija.
