Crown Princess Katherine Humanitarian Foundation and Their Royal Highnesses have given logistic and organizational support for little Tijana Ognjanovic’s departure to Houston, Texas as well as her stay in The United States of America.
Tijana Ognjanovic will travel to Houston, Texas accompanied by her mother Mrs. Jelena Ognjanovic and cardiologist from The Mother and Child Institute Dr. Sergej Prijic in a special medical flight of Orange Aviation where she will be admitted to the Texas Children’s Hospital where she will undergo examinations and tests prior to the heart transplantation as the only way to save her young life.
As a company committed to social responsibility, Turkish Airlines has provided a free round trip ticket to Houston to Tijana’s father, Mr. Nebojsa Ognjanovic as well as a return ticket for Dr. Sergej Prijic Houston – Belgrade.
The cost of the special medical flight for safe transfer of Tijana Ognjanovic has been covered thanks to the donation of Jat Airways, Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Naše Novine and the support of Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade. Professor Dr. Jovan Kosutic, Jovana’s long time doctor from The Mother and Child Institute “Dr. Vukan Cupic” recommendation was to fly with a special medical airplane equipped with all necessary medical equipment, certified medical crew and is also licensed to fly in the sea level altitude of 3000 m.
The health condition of little Tijana Ognjanovic is very fragile. She will be admitted to Houston Texas Children’s hospital where she will be added to the waiting list for heart transplant, finding a matching donor can last up to 12 months.
Tijana Ognjanovic’s parents extend their sincere gratitude to all companies and individuals for selfless support that enabled them to continue the battle for Tijana’s life.
