Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, and their daughter Mrs. Alison Andrews, together with Mr. Vladimir Cucic, Commissioner for Refugees of the Government of Serbia, opened the twentieth traditional Easter Bazaar of handicrafts of women refugees, at Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Vladimir Cucic addressed the guests. Then Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine officially opened the Bazaar. 

In her address, Her Royal Highness has emphasized: “It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the traditional Easter handcrafts Bazaar. From today until Saturday you will have a chance to enjoy and purchase the wonderful works of these creative women. These vulnerable women faced some very hard times and have supported their families with their work. All proceeds gathered here at the Bazaar will go directly to these women and their families.“

The Humanitarian Easter Bazaar gathered over forty exhibitors this year, including several schools for children with developmental problems. Among the distinguished guests there were H.E. Mrs Mercedes Felicitas Ruiz Zapata, Ambassador of Mexico, Mrs Saw Kay, wife of Ambassador of Myanmar, with her daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Kuroki, wife of Ambassador of Japan, other members of diplomatic corps. Mr. Andrei Efimov, director of United Nations office in Belgrade (UNOB) and numerous guests.

The Bazaar will be opened every day from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm until Saturday, 6 April 2013.
