Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended the opening of the exhibition  “Belgrade-Havana 70 years of established diplomatic relations” in Archive of Yugoslavia that was officially opened by H.E. Mr. Bratislav Petkovic Minister of Culture and Information. Guests were also greeted by H.E. Mrs. Mercedes Martinez Valdes the Ambassador of Cuba and the acting director of Yugoslav Archives Mr. Miladin Milosevic.

The exhibition included a retrospective of bilateral relations between the two countries formalised with the opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in Havana in 1943. – That is the only historically documented day and which is considered as the date of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

It was pointed out that friendly relations between the two countries are deepening with the shared desire to create a better, more just and humane society and the world. Cooperation at the bilateral level is reflected through the implementation of a number of high level visits and intensified political dialogue, signed agreements in the field of economics, health, scientific and cultural cooperation.

It was stated that Serbia and Cuba share a positive experience in the construction of a more humane society, with all the elements of social well-being of universal emancipation, more and more roles for women, affordable education and health care. Exchange of students, with the allocation of scholarships and strengthening of technical and other cooperation.
