VISIT TO KRUSEVAC
Belgrade, 4 September 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown
Princess Katherine were in Krusevac today, where they visited the Town Hall,
“Henkel-Merima” company and the Health Center, where they delivered a mobile
incubator.
The Head of the District Mr. Goran Krasic welcomed Their Royal Highnesses
at the Town Hall and later on introduced the distinguished guests to the
current situation in the town’s economy and health care system.
Thanking for the warm welcome, the Crown Prince emphasized he was very
glad to be with his wife again in Krusevac, the capital of Prince Lazar,
where every time he felt at home.
After a short reception, the host, Mr. Krasic escorted the distinguished
guests to the newly privatized company “Henkel – Merima”. At the factory,
Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by the general manager Mr. Gradimir
Milosevic, and the representative of the Austrian company “Henkel”,
marketing manager Mr. Guther Thumser.
“In the time of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, “Merima”
was purveyor of the Royal Palace and recorded its greatest growth then”.
pointed out the general manager Mr. Milosevic.
Marketing manager Mr. Thumser pointed out that partnership of “Henkel”
and “Merima” will bring a new spirit, with the help of tradition, into
modernization of production, maintaining the high level of product quality,
in order to satisfy local consumers’ needs.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander noted that Serbia has great intellectual and
economic potentials that should be used in a proper way and said he was
convinced that “Henkel-Merima’s” example will be the invitation to other
investors to come to our country and stimulate opening of new jobs and
economy growth.
At the end of the visit to Krusevac, Their Royal Highnesses took a tour
of the production plants and were introduced to the Factory’s work.
