THE CHANCELLERY OF
H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE Alexander II
OF YUGOSLAVIA

Congress
of gynaecologists officially opened
Belgrade, 28 September 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander and
Princess Katherine have attended tonight the official opening of the
Congress of the gynaecologists of Serbia and Montenegro, “ECHO 04”.
Over 20 participants from abroad are taking part at this Congress.

At first Dr Sulovic has welcomed the participants. He has
stressed the importance of the development of gynaecology in last 35
years, from the first ultrasound machine up to today’s 4D. He has
reminded his colleagues that the gynaecologists are cosmopolitans.
They are part of the sadness and pain but also they are united in
the greatest happiness. The other eminent names in gynecology have
addressed the participants welcoming 20 foreign lecturers headed by
Dr Nikolaidis.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II then addressed the participants. He
has expressed his pleasure for seeing experts from this important
branch of medicine gathered in such numbers at the Congress.
“It is our wish to help our country become a country where the
healthy children will come to this world and where the number of the
new born children will be as high as possible. An early diagnosis in
the pregnancy gives you, doctors, a possibility to react immediately
and help mothers bear healthy children. I believe that this Congress
will give a possibility to our doctors to be familiar with
contemporary achievements in medicine, to exchange experiences with
their colleagues. That would bring happiness to the babies and their
parents. This is not only their happiness, this is a happiness of
all of us, since a healthy posterity is the greatest asset of one
country.”
The Congress is taking place at Sava Center. The eminent Dr.
Nikolaidis had given already his lecture yesterday. The participants
will have an opportunity through lectures and talks to exchange
experiences and fill up gaps in knowledge of this branch of
medicine.
