Their Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended as guests of honour last night the 20th anniversary of the Serbian Society at the House of Lords. The host was The Baroness Flather of Windsor and Maidenhead. HRH Princess Katarina was present, the daughter of HRH Prince Tomislav.

Also present wereHis Eminence Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain, HE Dr Ognjen Pribićević, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia and Mrs Pribićević, Rt Hon Greg Hands MP and Mrs Hands, Rt. Hon. Sir John Randall MP and Lady Randall.

The Founder of the Serbian Society is Vesna Petković and Founding Committee is Mr Petar Janković, Mr Zoran Mitić, Mrs Vladislava Delić, Žarko Gakovic The Serbian Society celebrated its 20th Anniversary of its formation and continuing activities, which have advanced the Serbian community in the United Kingdom and helped the Serbian Diaspora to become an integral part of British Society. The Serbian Society was formed in the autumn of 1994 at the founding meeting at Hammersmith and Fulham Town Hall, with the aims to advance education and promote Serbian culture and heritage amongst Serbian people in Great Britain. The other aim is to represent the Serbian community in Government organisations, institutions, charities and humanitarian organisations, Local Authorities and to support good relationships between Serbian people or people of Serbian descent and other ethnic or racial groups. The Serbian Society received charitable status in the autumn of 1995.
